Why we do the things we do!
It’s by God’s grace and faithful mentors and leaders that Hope of Israel congregation has been established. As the founding pioneers of Hope of Israel, we are amazed to see how God has raised up leaders and shamashin to develop Hope of Israel into a healthy Messianic congregation that functions as a disciple-making center for both Jewish and non-Jewish (Gentiles) individuals. We look forward to seeing how the Lord continues to build Hope of Israel congregation as a long-term testimony of the faithfulness of God found in Yeshua to Jew and Gentile alike.
1. Testimony of Messiah Yeshua
We exalt Him above all others through training in evangelism and conducting outreach (Romans 1:16).
2. Local Congregation
We are disciples of Yeshua in mutual loving accountability in the LORD. We are better together (Matthew16:18).
3. Unity of Faith
The Bible is our final authority as articulated in our article of faith (Amos 3:3).
4. Ministry by the Congregation
The congregational leader’s ministry is to equip the believer for service to the building of the body of Messiah (Ephesians 4:12).
5. Leadership for Effective Ministry
A congregational ministry is established when leadership is developed. We only have the ministries for which we have adequately trained personnel (Proverbs 29:18).
6. Diversity of Services
The congregation gives opportunity to each member for service through counsel and encouragement. We serve God by serving others (1 Peter 4:10-11, Luke 10:38-42).
7. Messianic Form of Worship
While avoiding rabbinicalism, we express our faith in the Jewish manner and reflect the Jewishness of Yeshua. The music is in a Jewish style (Romans 11:1-2).
8. Clarity and Orderliness
Life and love are not expressed well in chaos. Communication is a priority (articles of faith, budgets, ministry guidelines, etc.) (1 Corinthians 14:40).
9. Children
Children are an inheritance from the LORD. The congregation provides instruction in the faith in a Jewish frame of reference (Psalms 127:3).
10. Discipleship
We prove personal and group discipleship for all. Members are disciples (Matthew 28: 19-20).
